It depends on the bottle. The normal sized bottles have 16 ounces in them which is 2 cups. Some of the larger bottles will have 20 or 24 ources (2.5 or 3 cups). Every 8 ounces equals one cup.

Now as far as needing 8 cups of water each day goes that is old information. It has been updated to be more accurate several years ago. It just has not gotten as much distribution as say the new and improved food pyramid has.

8 cups would be the bare minium. What we really need depends on weight, exercise, and environment. We need 1 ounce for every 2 pounds of body weight plus 8 ounces for every 20 minutes of exercise. For those of us in dryer and warmer climates or during the summer months we do need even more.

    Salutations,

Ok, with a cup being 8 oz, the average is 2, though if you have a liter bottle you have a little more than 4. Liter’s are usually how I get my water. and the more you drink, the more your body may want. cheers

Oooh this is interesting…I’m going to give you a star for this one later… Anyways, I usually just drink bottled water (Costco’s 36-pack!). But it’s probably better to drink filtered water in a cup, because I’m guessing it’s cheaper in the long run…Bottled water probably costs more.

    What’s a standard bottle of water – and how big’s the cup (I’m assuming you’re American, right…?)?

Here in the UK, the advice is to drink *at least* 8 *glasses* not cups (a standard UK drinking glass is 250ml – a cup is considerably smaller at around 200ml).

Bottled water over here is sold in many sizes – from 500ml sports cap bottles – to large 6 litre catering size canisters. Usually, it’s either 1.5 or 2 litres so that’s 6 – 8 glasses.

I tend to drink considerably more than that; anything up to 24 glasses has been known.

I *do* wish people would be less vague, and stop assuming people are going to know what they’re on about! <sigh>

The standard like nalgene bottle is 32 oz (one liter) so 4 cups.

if you mean like a bottle you buy and throw out…anywhere from 1.5-3 cups!

    Cheers,

    Paul

8oz are in one cup. A standard bottle of water is 16oz. You would have to drink 4 bottles at least a day, the more water you drink the better you will feel!

Depends on the size of the bottle! Take the number of oz. that are printed on it and divide by 8. 8 oz. = 1 cup.
