I love this song..but i don’t understand one part of it.?

I’ll be your man

And I’ll understand

And I’ll do my best

To take good care of you

You’ll be my queen

I’ll be your king

And I’ll be your lover too

Yeah yeah

Yes I will

Derry down green

Color of my dream

A dream that’s daily coming true.

And ohhh when the day is through

I will come to you and tell you of

Your many charms

And girl you look at me

With eyes that see

And we’ll melt into each others eyes

You’ll be my queen

And I’ll be your king

And I’ll be your lover too

what does the phrase “derry down green” mean?

thanks =]

Derry can refer to Londonderry in the UK and down in the UK can refer to a grassy treeless hill. Green is a color.

The place of the singer’s dream is a green grassy treeless hill in Derry.

Van Morrison the original singer was from Northern Ireland and Down and Derry are places in N.I

maybe something to do with that??

Derry is a city in Ireland, and Down is a county there.

Van Morrison is from Ireland, so I assume that “Derry Down green” was about the color of the land there, and about Van missing it.

its a specific shade of green.

    hence “color of my dream”
