    Let x be full marks. Then 60% of x equals 120 or .6*x = 120 giving us

    x = 120/.6 = 1200/6 = 200.

    120 is 60/100

    ? = 100 / 100

    Answer is 120 x 100 / 60 = 200

    Just set up a proportion problem.

    120 x

    =

    60% 40%

    From here you cross multiply to get (120*40=(60*x) = 4800 = 60x

    Then divide by 60 to get x on its own. So x would be 80. Then add your original amount of 120 to 80 to find the 100% (60%+40% = 100%–– 120+80=200)

    So, your answer is 200.

    You know 120 =60%

    so 100% must be 120*100/60

    In fact the numbers are so simple you can do it in your head.

    10% would be 20 Marks so just imagine 10 x 20 marks and that be your answer
