ANY lubricant on the rollers or belt will WORSEN the problem. Reason…..lint is attracted to and sticks to the oils, lubes, etc. and will lock up said roller, or pulley. Thats why there is not real bearings in ANY dryer on the market except in the motor, all rollers are dry metal on metal or metal on plastic.
Have an appliance store come out and take care of it for you, it will cost you less in the long run.

chill out appliance tech, you’re correct, its best to let the pro do it, and stay away from WD-40 it is a good cleaner and a good light weight lube but lube is not the solution. More than likely it is the wheel that keeps tension on the belt, Not a difficult fix but it is a little confusing if you have not done it before, and if you only have two hands. The pro will also check out The belt and other wheels carrying the weight of the drum. This isn’t an expensive repair for an honest repair man, unless of course it is the motor.

The dryer is run by a belt, more than likely it is glazed. WD-40 is very safe to use. There is a bushing on the motor that has a small pulley may be the problem. It is located in the back of the machine, you may have to pull the cover off. turn on machine with clothes in the dryer putting a load on it to locate the squeak, unless you already know where it is coming from. Replace the part or it will quit on you, wd-40 won’t last forever, it is cheaper to replace the part. One other item you should know about. On the door of the machine inside their is a screen to trap the lint, removing the screen and looking down you will see a lot more lint, try and remove it as it can cause a fire if too much lint is in there, if you use you hand to remove the lint, be very careful as there are very sharp edges. good luck!

Thanks so much for all the information. Some of it we knew about, but the shower door is a must try! I’ve tried all kinds of products on the shelf, vinegar, alcohol, etc. I am about to try Purple Power, baking soda and WD-40 (separately). We’ve tried for years to get the water residue from the shower door and the only thing that I find works is scraping my fingernails over it (not very efficient).

My dryer was sqeaking it was some pully or something, it took the repair guy 5 minutes, and it was 65 bucks, I have an old whirlpool and he said that was the best one on the market.

You probably have a pulley or the rollers the drum sits on, that is going bad. Spraying will not cure the problem. Inspect the pully and rollers and replace if necessary.
