    i am not sure exactly who said this but im pretty sure it wuz one of the founders of the constitution. it wuz in refernece to the checks and balances system that we have today. it means that we shud not have 1 main ruler, but have equal power spread amongst several, so that there is not a king or tyrant that controls all.

    Actually, I am learning about this in school right now. Montesquieu originally said it, and it was quoted in the constitution. You’d be surprised how much of the constitution is quoted from him

    Montesquieu. I think he meant that one power should hold back the other and vice versa. Just like our system of checks and balances.
