I’m filling out this job app. online and it’s asking for ‘internet references’, and there is a drop down menu that has options such as social network, blog, business website etc and then a box to type in the link? Does it mean my personal facebook or blog or whatever or someone for a reference? It won’t let me move onto the next step until I fill it in..

That sounds weird, and by permitting that, you could be opening up your entire personal account to scrutiny. I’ve never heard of that before, but I would definitely be wary.
